August is for Subsistence.

Today, after a lovely afternoon perusing Carlee Hobbs’ happy greenhouse, and dining on salmon melts and tomato soup for lunch, the Hobbs family drove down to the Nome River with their friend Janet to check her net. They’ll be bringing home some delicious silver salmon tonight!

We had rain showers off and on all afternoon and out came a lovely rainbow, seen faintly below in the images. After the sun snuck behind a cloud for a wee minute, we took the opportunity for an impromptu, subsistence-style photoshoot!

Hope you enjoy! ♥
