We’ve made it over the hump! Today was work, then Zumba, then beach. And it was glorious weather! Swimming weather! 🙂 Well… I didn’t swim, but others did!

The Only Peacock You’ll Ever See in Nome
Today was trying, but, at the very close of the day, after working on everyone else’s problems, one patient’s family member called me back and thanked me for “making it happen.” That was really kind, and brought a smile to my face. And it’s moments like those that make my job worth it.
I almost went swimming today. The weather was so marvelous, and the water was warmer than some lakes I’ve dunked into! But instead I rolled up my workout pants and waded in the water, washing off my sandy toes.

My roommate Aurora and her sister went for a beach stroll as well
As I walked along the shore, I whistled. I whistled for quite some time, until I realized I had whistled for a long time… and had not appreciated the quiet. A verse ran through my head –
Be Still and Know that I am God
I don’t sit still very well, nor can I stand long periods of silence, even when I’m by myself! So this was rather difficult for me. I repeated it over and over, instead. Aren’t you glad that God is God, and you are not? As I picked up tiny pieces of seaglass, some shells, and one lovely opaque piece of white glass, I was reminded of the things that God is. He is ever present, all powerful, all knowing, the Creator, the Beginning and the End; He is Good, and He is Love.
And if I walk around with God inside me, and my life hidden with Christ in God, I have that love inside me as well. How rich we are. And how strongly we are called to share that love with others – in truth and deed, and in sharing the Gospel.

A good reminder for today. ♥
