August 1, 2018

And just like that it is August. Today sort of felt like a funeral for summer…the beginning of the end. Everyone is hustling about, picking berries, catching fish, desperately trying to get in more beach time before it grows cold. We had rain and wind and mid-50 degree weather today.

But I went to the beach anyway… between Zumba and picking up my roomie from the airport. Rain or shine. Like I promised myself.

I figured it would be another meager day like yesterday, but the Lord was merciful and I found the first piece within 30seconds. 🙂 It was so easy that I stuck around to find a few more.

Today was a dreary day and it was still so stormy out. The waves were loud as they crashed over themselves.

Despite the darkness that seemed to loom a bit today… God is on the throne.

This is my song today:

I was sure by now, God you would have reached down
And wiped our tears away,
Stepped in and saved the day.
But once again, I say amen,
That it’s still raining!
As the thunder rolls,
I barely hear your whisper through the rain:
I’m with you.”
And as your mercy falls,
I raise my hands and praise
The God who gives and takes away!
And I’ll praise you in this storm!
And I will lift my hands,
That you are who you are,
No matter where I am!
And every tear I’ve cried,
You hold in your hand.
You never left my side,
And though my heart is torn,
I will praise you in this storm!
